White Hat - Facts - White paper - The white hat is about data and information, it is used to record info that is currently available and to identify further information that may be needed. (What is the current information on the issue or problem?)

Red Hat - Feelings - Fire and Warmth - The red hat is associated with feelings, intuition, and emotion. The red hat allows people to put forward feelings without justification or prejudice. (How does everyone feel about the current situation, issue or problem?)



Yellow Hat - Benefits - Sunshine - The yellow hat is for positive fiew of things. It looks for benefits in a situation. This hat encourages a positive view even in people who are always critical. (What are the positive aspects of the current situation, issue or problem?)

Black Hat - Cautions - The Stern Judge - The black hat relates to caution. It is used for critical judgement. Sometimes it is easy to overuse the black hat. (What are the negative aspects of the current situation, issue or problem?)

Green Hat - Creativity - Vegetation and rich growth - The green hat is for creative thinking and generating new ideas. This is your creative thinking cap. (What are new creative ideas or alternatives in solving the issue or problem?)
